Calgary – Jasper National Park/Lake Louise & Yoho N.P & Moraine Lake

CANADA : VACATION DEALS - NORTH AMERICA

Calgary City – Jasper National Park (2-Day Tour) - Lake Louise & Yoho N.P & Moraine Lake
6-DAY TOUR

Calgary is considered the gateway to the Canadian Rockies. Complete your Calgary visit with a trip to the renowned mountains, where you can explore the Columbia Icefield and embark on cool outdoor adventures at Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Columbia Icefield, one of Canada's national treasures and most rewarding destinations. Stretching 232km (144mi) through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, this world-class journey offers access to a vast wilderness of pristine mountain lakes, ancient glaciers, and broad sweeping valleys.

Athabasca Falls is not one of the highest waterfalls but is rather known for the sheer amount and force of the water that flows through it from the Columbia Glacier.

Maligne Lake is the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies. You can take an optional cruise to enjoy the scenery of the lake.

Maligne Canyon is carved into the Palliser Formation, a layer of limestone deposited in a shallow tropical sea by lime-secreting plankton about 365-million years ago.

Medicine Lake, is one of the largest known sinking rivers in the Western Hemisphere and maybe the largest inaccessible cave system anywhere in the world.

Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake, and these suspended rock particles give the lake a bright, turquoise color.

Crowfoot Glacier, named after its shape when was discovered. A must-see stop with climate change nowadays. The “Third Toe” was melted and barely visible.

Look for moose, bear at Yoho National Park. Stop at Lake Louise to snap photos of its turquoise waters, just steps away from Banff's charming downtown.

Find out how railway engineers overcame the Continental Divide's steep terrain with a visit to the serpentine Spiral Tunnels, see where the Kicking Horse River punched through rock to create a natural bridge, and fill your camera with postcard-worthy shots of Moraine Lake's brilliant color.

Just south of Downtown Calgary, the pre-1915 buildings and staff in period dress transport visitors back in time to the Canadian Wild West. Kids might especially enjoy a wagon or steam train ride.

Afternoon: Taste Calgary: Explore the neighborhoods of Calgary on a food tour, and find out what makes Canadian cuisine unique. Sample different dishes while walking around a market or some of Calgary’s most historic areas. Travelers with kids might prefer to check out the Calgary Zoo instead, home to more than 1,000 animals belonging to more than 100 species.

Night: Enjoy the View - The tallest building in the city, and a distinctive landmark, the Calgary Tower is a fun evening destination. Get there while there’s still daylight, to possibly catch sight of the Rocky Mountains in the distance. Stay for dinner at the revolving Sky 360 restaurant—or just take in the view from the observation deck, then head downtown to eat.
